Questions
Common questions
Can EverGift read my messages?
No. Your messages are sealed on your own computer in EverGift Vault before they are sent to us. We store and deliver the sealed copy, and only your vault holds the key to open it.
How many people can I leave gifts for, and for how long?
As many people as you like. Gifts can be planned for decades ahead: the Legacy plan funds preservation for 100 years.
What if life changes after I seal a gift?
A sealed gift is never altered, so it stays exactly as you made it. You can add new messages, update a recipient's contact details, and plan new gifts at any time from your dashboard.
What if the moment never happens?
Every gift can name someone to receive it if the first person cannot, so nothing is left without a purpose.
Could a gift be released by mistake?
We take every precaution. A passing must be confirmed by two independent sources, we try to reach you, anyone can object during a waiting period, and two people must approve. A missed check-in alone never counts. See the trust center.
How does my loved one receive a gift?
They receive an invitation, create their own passkey, confirm who they are, and open the gift in their browser. They can check that it is exactly what you sealed.
What do I need to get started?
An email address, a phone or computer that supports passkeys, and the computer where you will keep your vault. Setup takes about ten minutes.
Will EverGift ever ask for my unlock phrase?
Never. Not by email, phone or support message. If anyone asks, it is not us.
